C&P has set itself the task of promoting young athletes and bringing young people closer to the joy of exercise. We are not only a partner to young tennis star Lukas Neumayerbut also support sports clubs in the region. Investing in youth is an investment in the future – and always pays off ultimately. In our interview series “C&P Presents” we offer a stage for sports clubs that we support. In the fourth part of the series we asked Gerhard Kohl, U10 coach, Alexander Köhler, youth coordinator, and Georg Winkler, UEFA B License coach at SV Gösendorf JAZ, to step in front of the camera.

Investing in youth

“We are investing a lot in youth,” says Gerhard Kohl, U10 coach at SV Gösendorf JAZ proudly. The club does not call itself a “youth training centre” for nothing, abbreviated to “JAZ” in German. The sports club has at least two coaches for each U team and even offers individual training. This enormous commitment, however, costs not only a lot of time but also money. This is precisely why long-term partnerships and sponsors are so important to the club.

“Our goal is to train children in a way that is specifically dedicated to football,” explains youth coordinator Alexander Köhler. Whether it’s amateur football or professional sport, at JAZ Gösendorf, the kids are trained and perfectly prepared for admission to an academy or for integration into their own competitive team. It is especially important for the coaches that the young players identify themselves with the values of the club and that parents are also involved in events and tournaments.

„Sponsors are particularly important in the youth and children fields.“

SUCCESS THROUGH COACHING QUALIFICATIONS

The great commitment of the club is bearing fruit: football giants such as national team player Valentino Lazaro or Selina Degen, who is currently playing in the German Bundesliga, had their beginnings at SV Gösendorf JAZ. The coaches at SV Gössendorf make a major contribution to the success of the youth teams.

“We have a great team of coaches,” says Alexander Köhler. The trainers themselves have received a first-class education in the field and pass on their knowledge to the youth. Georg Winkler, U9 coach, has even completed the UEFA B license – the second highest qualification for coaches in Austria. In his opinion, the higher the level of the qualification, the better. As a result, you can be sure that the young people at SV Gössendorf JAZ are in safe hands.
